More than a shop - a destination!

Nestled amongst numerous boutiques, shops, and businesses in Historic Downtown Decatur, Alabama, the Yarn Boutique of Decatur boasts one of the largest inventory/collections of yarn in the region. Shop owner Sylvia Johnson, aka the “Crazy Yarn Lady,” (as her customers, employees and friends affectionately call her) prides herself in offering a wide variety of knitting, crocheting, and spinning supplies guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning textile artist’s taste.

A self-described “people person,” Sylvia and her staff enjoy chatting “yarn” with all the wonderful customers that walk through their doors. While she is more than grateful for all the new clients and customers who visited her Decatur shop in 2022, she has huge plans for her small business as she enters her seventh year of ownership. She is hopeful her newly launched website will allow her to share her passion for all things yarn with an even bigger audience. Sylvia and her staff are excited to be offering a larger variety of in-person classes this spring as well as expanding to online classes via YouTube and other platforms later this year.
